Police seek man for parole violation

A Rocky Mount man on parole from two 2012 convictions has a warrant out for his arrest after he reportedly cut off an electronic monitoring device.

A warrant against Jeremy S. Williams, 21, was obtained Tuesday for felony tampering with a monitoring device. He has not been apprehended.

N.C. Department of Probation and Parole employees were notified Tuesday night that a monitoring device had been removed and tracked it to Williams’ front yard on the 300 block of Goldleaf Street. Employees contacted Rocky Mount officers and the warrant was obtained. According to the N.C. Department of Public Safety, Williams was convicted of felony breaking and entering and assault on an officer or state employee and was released from prison in November.
