Rocky Mount police are asking the public for help identifying a man suspected of robbing a local store at gunpoint Saturday.

Authorities said several people were inside the Family Dollar on Cokey Road when a suspect ran in, threatened an employee with a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. A K-9 track of the suspect was unsuccessful. No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-9 black man with a medium complexion, between 160 pounds and 170 pounds with acne marks on his face. The suspect reportedly was wearing a black coat, faded black jeans and a black toboggan. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
