A 70-year-old man is recovering after being hit by a car Saturday night.
Police said Charles Linwood Waddell was crossing the street from the Hess gas station, 1212 Bethlehem Road, when he was hit by a car. The driver of the car reportedly fled the scene. Waddell was treated and released from Nash General Hospital.
Witnesses described the suspect as a female driving a red car. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
