Police probe Christmas shooting

Police are seeking leads in the Christmas morning shooting of a 25-year-old Rocky Mount man.

Officials said the man was shot twice shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday, possibly near the Ashburn Inn in Gold Rock.

The victim was taken to Nash General Hospital then flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he was treated and released.

It is unclear what the victim was doing when he was shot or if he was with anyone else when the incident occurred.

No description of the suspect was released.
