Authorities arrested one suspect and are searching for another involved in a Wednesday afternoon shooting that left one victim wounded.

Police reported that Raynor Moore, 19, of the 100 block of Spaulding Drive, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill. Another unknown suspect involved — described as a dark-skinned black male, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and wearing all black — remains at large.

Police responded to the 600 block of Walton Circle a little after 4:20 p.m. Darrien Parker, 20, told police he was approached by the two men near his home.

Parker told police he walked into his yard and the two men began firing shots at him. He was shot once and the suspects fled the scene, running on Walton Drive toward Bedford Road. The victim was taken to Nash General Hospital and later was released.

Afterwards, a K-9 track was conducted and ended in Edgecombe Meadows. The case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call Twin County Crime Stoppers at 977-1111.

Hey Im going by what her fellow officers have said about her. Plus RMPD along with Edgecombe County Deputies are the lowest paid workers in law enforcement. I'll stick to my RN job at Heritage. I never claimed to be able to do better but I would put forth more effort..then again I guess you get what you pay for. It's a shame that a person who climbs a utility pole makes more than a man/woman who may face a bullet everyday makes. TO be honest you couldnt pay me enough to put on the uniform and work the dead end job..

Well considering that most people in the area drive the extra 45 minutes to go to Pitt Hospital, unless they don't have a choice, don't speak about the efforts of people in other professions. I would expect an "educated" RN to speak about things he or she has some knowlege about. You haven't put much of an effort into knowing what you are talking about, other than what other people have said.

Well to inform you Heritage is part of PITT....Plus I've sat in a resturant at and heard this conversation between a Sgt. and 2 other officers. Seems that your getting very defensive so I'll go out on a limb and assume that YOU ARE THE OFFICER they refer to. I'll even apologize if this isnt true. I just thought that RMPD would like to know what thei fellow officers thought of them. If they didnt talk about stuff like this in PUBLIC where everyone could hear I would have never known RMPD had a female K-9 officer since I dont deal with them. Myb thats the reason RMPD is so disrespected. It comes across as another HighSchool DRAMA CLUB!!! If your fellow officers kept their mouths shut about what goes on in the dept. and about how SORRY other officers work performance is people would have more faith in RMPD. I admire anyone in RMPD Edgecome County and Nash County for their bravery. As before you guys are not paid for what you are worth. Mybe its your fellow workers justacitizen you need to convience not me. Good Luck to you!!!! This happens in anywhwere you work, but I do hold you guys to a higher standard than most professions

WHY IS IT THAT EVERYTIME WE

WHY IS IT THAT EVERYTIME WE READ ABOUT RMPD'S K-9 TRACKS NOTHING EVER TURNS UP?? I KNOW ONE FEMALE K-9 OFFICER THAT WORKS WITH RMPD AND HER K-9 COULDN'T FIND ITS WAY OUT OF A WET PAPERBAG.

Every Time

Maybe you should put in an application if you think you can do it better. It's amazing that some people like to be "arm chair Quarterbacks", when they don't know what their talking about. And these same people wouldn't dare put on a uniform and perform the job themselves. But, I'm sure you would do a much better job. Maybe you should quit watching "Law and Order" and critique people in your own profession. Whatever it is.
