Police nab home invasion suspect

A 28-year-old was jailed in Nash County after allegedly invading the home of a 60-year-old disabled man.

According to police reports, Michael Brandon Pellum approached the victim’s house on the 700 block of Melton Drive just before 8 p.m. Tuesday and asked to use the resident’s phone. When the resident refused, Pellum forced his way into the home and threatened the victim with a box cutter. The victim reportedly tried to call police, but Pellum took the phone and cut the victim in the hand.

Pellum fled on foot. Investigators identified him as the suspect and arrested him. He was charged with assault on a handicapped person, robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree burglary. He was jailed in Nash County under a $8,000 secured bond.

Low bond then gets out and receives probation, remembers low bond does same thing to someone else then gets more probation not to mention pleas to a misd... Please if you want crime to go lower you have to put these thugs in the can

...r u kidding me? $8000 cash bond? He was charged with assault on a handicapped person, robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree burglary... and ONLY $8000 bond. i know people who have been charged with NON VIOLENT small amount drug charges and have had bonds in the $10's of thousands of dollars. what gives?
