Rocky Mount police officers arrested an 18-year-old suspect Monday after receiving calls that the teen allegedly was tampering with several vehicles on the lot at the Gabe Rowe Nissan dealership.
At 9:55 p.m., police responded to reports of a man who allegedly was trying the door handles of multiple cars at the dealership on South Wesleyan Boulevard.
Upon arriving, officers got into a brief foot chase with Bobby Reggie Lynch before arresting him.
Lynch was charged with tampering with a vehicle and resisting a public officer.
“(Lynch) did not make entry into any of the vehicles,” Rocky Mount police Cpl. Mike Lewis said. “There was no damage, and nothing was stolen.”
Lynch received a $1,000 unsecured bond.
