A Battleboro shooting suspect was jailed Monday in connection with a Feb. 23 shooting that wounded him and two others.
Samuel Michael Finch, 23, was charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and filing a false police report. Finch was jailed in Edgecombe County under a $281,500 secured bond. Anthony Lamont Lester, 26, of Enfield was arrested Thursday on the same charges and jailed in Edgecombe County under a $250,000 secured bond.
Police said Finch and Lester were in a gun fight with another vehicle near QVC on Kingsboro Road. Finch and Lester went to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment of gunshot wounds and told responding Greenville police fictitious stories about how they were wounded. The investigation in ongoing.
