A Nash County tax preparer pleaded guilty Wednesday to multiple counts of fraud.

According to a press release, Delane F. Alston pleaded guilty to two counts of aiding and assisting in the preparation of false federal income tax returns. Alston will be sentenced in May and could face three years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000 for each count of conviction.

Authorities said Alston worked at P&A Tax Services between 2007 and 2011 in the Rocky Mount office before transferring to the Spring Hope office where he was a manager.
