A Rocky Mount man is listed in serious but stable condition following a Sunday night shooting.
Authorities said officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. to an aggravated assault on the 300 block of North Howell Street. The victim was found with a gunshot wound and taken to Nash General Hospital. The 35-year-old man later was transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Rocky Mount police said the gunman fired numerous gunshots that damaged several homes and a vehicle, but it is unclear what the victim was doing when he was wounded.
