Police said a 61-year-old man was robbed Saturday night behind his house on the 100 block of Nandina Court.

According to police reports, the victim was behind his house when he was approached by a suspect who hit him in the head with a gun and forced him to the ground. The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s wallet. The victim was treated at the scene by Emergency Medical Service personnel.

The suspect is described as a tall black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
