Police said a Rocky Mount man was injured during an attempted robbery Saturday night.

Authorities said a 65-year-old man was getting into his vehicle on the 1900 block of Toms Trail when he was approached by two suspects. According to police reports, the suspects threatened the victim with a shotgun, striking the victim, but fled before police arrived. Nothing was stolen from the victim.

One suspect is described as a short, dark-skinned black man and the second is described as a 6-foot-2 black man with a medium complexion, weighing about 220 pounds and wearing brown paints and a yellow sweatshirt.
