A 20-year-old man was placed in the Nash County jail Wednesday morning after he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted his girlfriend and her cousins.

According to police reports, Kemeel Jamar Anderson refused to let his 18-year-old girlfriend leave his home on the 1300 block of Niblick Drive. He allegedly hit her with a pipe and then assaulted her 19-year-old and 24-year-old female cousins before leaving the scene with one of the victim’s keys.

Police obtained warrants on Anderson, and he was arrested around 6 a.m. Wednesday He was charged with three counts of assault on a female, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of kidnapping, second-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation and misdemeanor larceny.

Given the domestic violence nature of the incident, he is being held without bond in the Nash County jail for a period of up to 48 hours. The magistrate also issued a $3,000 secured bond for the non-domestic charges.
