A Rocky Mount man was jailed Friday night in connection with the assault of a juvenile.

According to police reports, officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. to a domestic dispute at a house on the 1500 block of Charter Drive. Police said they found an unidentified boy with minor injuries stemming from a possible assault. The boy did not require medical attention.

Cleavon Demetrius Cherry, 31, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with misdemeanor child abuse and misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 years old. He was jailed in Edgecombe County without bond.
