A Rocky Mount man was arrested Wednesday after fleeing a four vehicle wreck and his friend’s vehicle was seized.

According to police reports, Johnny Vance Benton Jr., 24, was driving a Nissan Altima when he ran into the back of a truck and forced it into two other vehicles. Benton reportedly ran from the vehicle, but was apprehended a short time later by responding officers. Police said two people were treated and released from Nash General Hospital for injuries sustained in the wreck.

The vehicle’s owner, Evan Tyler, 25, was cited for not having insurance. Benton was charged with driving while intoxicated, hit and run and driving while license revoked. The Nissan Altima was seized by police.
