Two men were charged Tuesday in connection with vandalism that allegedly took place Saturday and Sunday in the area of Halifax Road.
Nash County deputies took reports of 10 mailboxes in the Hunter Ridge subdivision that were damaged over the weekend, as well as damage to the Union Missionary Baptist Church outbuilding and church van. According to reports, deputies received information as part of their follow-up investigation and were able to arrest two men.
Owen Bernice Smith, 22, and Evan Marquis Tyler, 23, were each charged with 11 counts of damage to personal property, one count of damage to real property and one count of resisting a public officer. Smith was placed in the Nash County jail under a $500 secured bond whereas Tyler was cited and released.
