Four people were taken to Nash General Hospital Tuesday night after a collision on the 100 block of South Wesleyan Boulevard.
According to police reports, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash around 9:30 p.m. but one vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. Emergency Medical Service personnel took three people from one car and one person from another car to the hospital with complaints of pain, police said. Their conditions were unknown.
The driver, Robert Preston Brinkley, was found a short time later and taken into custody. Brinkley, 30, was charged with felony hit and run, misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated and driving while license revoked. Brinkley was jailed in Nash County under a $5,500 secured bond.
