Rocky Mount police caught a man Tuesday who allegedly stole bedding from a house and took him into custody. Authorities said officers responded around midnight to a break-in at a house on the 300 block of Carolina Avenue. Officers en route to the scene reportedly spotted the suspect with the bed linens and attempted to stop him, but the burglar ran off. Police apprehended him after a short chase. Michael Isaiah Jones, 25, was charged with felony residential breaking and entering, felony larceny and misdemeanor resist, obstruct or delay. He was jailed in Edgecombe County under a $15,000 secured bond.
