A Castalia couple was arrested Monday after police found a small marijuana growing operation inside their house.
Nicole Brown, 22, and Bradley Rix Butler, 24, were charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brown was released with a written promise to appear and Butler was jailed in Nash County under a $5,000 secured bond. Authorities said the couple are dating.
According to a press release, Nash County deputies received a tip that marijuana was being grown inside a house on the 6700 block of Heather Brooke Lane in Castalia. Deputies reportedly went to the house Monday and said Brown admitted to growing marijuana. Deputies searched the house and said they seized two marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, grow lights, a shotgun and a rifle.
