Cab driver fights off armed robbers

Rocky Mount police are searching for two teens accused of attempting to rob a cab driver at gunpoint on Saturday night.

According to police reports, a 39-year-old man was driving on the 1500 block of Tadlock Avenue when a passenger in the backseat of his cab put a handgun to his head. The driver reportedly pulled a handgun of his own and wrestled the teen’s gun away from him before the two passengers fled the vehicle.

One suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 black man, around 16 years old with a dark complexion, 130 pounds and wearing black jeans and a black jacket. The second suspect is described as a 5-foot-6 black man, around 18 years old with a light complexion, 150 pounds and wearing a black shirt and black jacket.
