“We take it certainly as a positive sign.”

Sanderson Farms bought 26 acres of land in Nash County this week, but that doesn’t guarantee the company will build a chicken processing plant in the county, a company official said.

pam or spam?

pam/mam/spam: yur just 2 quick 2 jump. there is a meat processing plant near Fayetteville. think it is a smithfield processing plant. can you offer any suggestions as to what type of companies and any specific companies your group can entice to come to rocky mount area? this whole area has been on a downturn for about 30 years now. outside of the 'old money', what do you suggest to improve business in this area?

no reply necessary

so name calling is your answer?

Vote Against Sanderson Farms

Let's vote against politicans with personal agendas that are for Sanderson Farms. Let's vote against those that are spending our tax dollars to ruin our region with a business known for pollution and bringing in more poverty to the area. Rocky Mount is putting this as far away as possible from the city to ruin Wilson and Southern Nash County. I wonder if Robbie Davis, John Gesseman, or Bob Murphy would be so welcoming if this was in their neighborhood? Of course not, but they don't care for the citizens of the area, just what's in this for them. Keep fighting Nash County Landowner's and Wilson. Keep this mess out of our area!

SANDERSON FARMS

If Rocky Mount wants Sanderson Farms in the area, they should build it in Rocky Mount or Edgecombe County. No one ever mentions how much Nash County has spent buying property 1.4 million and the millions of tax dollar incentives they are willing to give an industry that will pollute our region. (not to mention the water and sewage lines) They have already put up 50 chicken houses in Wilson county....that is for the Kinston plant and they need 500 more if they open another plant in Nash. Bob Murphy and his associates will be responsible for ruining our region. They want the plant on Nash counties "protected" watershed....then they want the spray field on Wilson counties watershed....the spray field is not clean water....you couldn't drink it.

let's accept the investment

why not accept the Sanderson Farms investment in our community? there's a similar facility down near Fayetteville that seems to be doing well. will we be voting FOR commissioners who approve it or AGAINST those who vote against it? this area badley needs infusion of money/investment and new jobs plus offshoot jobs/business.

rockyroad

it is in Kinston, not Fayetteville, so you don't have any clue what you are commenting about.....as usual
