Reader speaks out about electric bill

I read recently in the paper about a proposed venue for a Rocky Mount event center.

Last week, I was reading about where we are planning on still doing some work to downtown Rocky Mount.

I am all for expansion and growth, but have the city manager and the City Council considered that we have residents who are paying $400 to $700 per month in electric bills.

How about finding a way to pay off the loan that they say is the reason why our electric bills are so high?

Can we afford to build a center that is going to sit there and do nothing?

The Dunn Center houses a lot of events. Again, how about the city manager and the council look at how we can get this loan paid off and decrease our electric bills to normal.
