We were thrilled to hear that U.S. News & World Report awarded Southern Nash High School a bronze medal in the publication’s rankings of the best high schools in the United States.
That is a tremendous honor and achievement – one that our entire community should celebrate and take lessons from.
For the rankings, U.S. News & World Report analyzed more than 31,200 public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
We applaud the teachers, staff, administrators and students at Southern Nash High School for their hard work. We also commend parents and others in the community who have worked to encourage and support local students.
Our whole community should take pride in having one of our schools recognized in such a way.
We encourage our community to rally behind Southern Nash High School and other schools in the Twin Counties because education is a critical area that we all must work to support.
After all, education is the foundation for our children’s futures.
It also has a tremendous impact on the success of our region and our state. North Carolina’s ability to compete in a global market, to provide a trained and skilled workforce and to produce intelligent, compassionate community leaders depends on education.
