Some days it seems like there is nothing but bad news stories out there.

I want to make sure people in Rocky Mount know kindness and looking out for others is alive and well in Rocky Mount.

A Rocky Mount police officer, Shawn Battle, always looks after me, coming and going from work at First Baptist Day Care.

We are across the street from the Police Department, and most mornings and Wednesday nights he is over here to make sure we get in and out of the building all right.

Mr. Battle is very nice to help us ladies and look out for us.

He doesn’t have to do this, but he does. I want to thank him for his kindness and let others know that being kind to others takes little effort, but can make a big difference.
