It is that time of year again for our 11th biannual community forum, “Come Be Empowered …Family Matters.”
This educational conference will be held in beautiful Tarboro at the Fleming Building, Mobley Atrium of Edgecombe Community College. 2009 Wilson St. It will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, and conclude on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The purpose of our educational conference is to enrich the lives of people in our community and other surrounding areas.
We have a lot of great speakers who will be on hand to provide information about reentry, expunction, certificate of relief and the Justice Reinvestment Act of North Carolina.
Issues about child support, child custody and visitation will be presented during the lunch hour, followed by a panel of speakers who will talk about civil processes, criminal processes, juvenile issues, mediation, small claims and domestic violence.
Speakers will also be here to provide information about the importance of wills, elderly abuse, identity theft, understanding aging and medication labels.
Our office is also partnering with the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Department in having a location where unused prescription drugs can be dropped off. There will be vendors, food, door prizes and much more.
Thank you very much, and we look forward to seeing you at our educational conference.
