Regarding the Forbes review: Well, here we go again! This time, it’s not just a reflection on a certain group of individuals, but the entire town of Rocky Mount.

This report is very demeaning when it comes to the status of any town that is trying to survive. We have lost a vast amount of jobs to the act of sanction empowered by our own government. The word “merger” is commonly known in this town. We have lost a majority of jobs to this issue, and our hands are tied.

We can find a church every three miles. We have to ask ourselves, “Is God pleased with such a division in such a small town. Why so many ministries? Are they putting anything back into this community? God fed a multitude with just a small amount!”

The crime rate is almost beyond repair. Criminals are under the impression that, “what is yours is theirs also!” They will take any measure necessary to the acts of robbery, selling drugs, and robbing innocent individuals.

Stores are closing at a rate that is totally unreal. The average family is surviving from check to check and then borrowing in between each check. The political issues here are a joke. They fight against each other, and we read this in the paper, as if we want to.

The school system is losing teachers due to the fact of no dedication to a chosen field. Then for the educators who do care, they face low wages from the state, and children who are totally out of control.

The birth rate is through the roof. We are in a town where no one has the citizens in mind. Are we upset?

We should be. This report is a reflection on all of the citizens of Rocky Mount.

Political leaders, please wake up! Let us look into companies that are willing to come this way. Let us teach our children to be productive and teach them to give back instead of taking.

It is up to us to get busy to see what types of grants we can put back into the community. Let us not be so divided by the term Edgecombe versus Nash.

This report is about all of us! Ministries should come together and pray that God brings a healing to the land, instead of just being so divided!

There is a decline of standard in the community. The Bible that I study from and read states that God is a provider, and he will give leaders and individuals the intellect of how to adhere to such a vast issue! Let us continue to pray for the healing of this town and for the growth that only God can do!
