It’s time to talk turkey about Thanksgiving and the place it occupies in our lives. I know that whenever we think about Thanksgiving, a Norman Rockwell-type picture of a family gathered around a table featuring all kinds of food floats through our minds.
During the Oct. 27 Rocky Mount City Council meeting, Charlene Moore cited the recent Forbes article about Rocky Mount and petitioned on behalf of Oak Level Citizens against Forced Annexation that the city did not have the financial resources to support an annexation.
Regarding the $5 million that we are spending on downtown Rocky Mount for beautification, I wonder why the City Council wouldn’t consider spending $5 million on a solar panel field and a solar grid?
It would start returning our money immediately, everyday the sun shines.
