Rocky Mount High lauds award winners

Scholarship recipients of the Rocky Mount High School Class of 2010 were honored with a celebration breakfast April 30.

The celebration was held in the school cafeteria and parents and community scholarship sponsors were invited to attend.

Students and guests enjoyed a breakfast of Hardee’s biscuits, muffins and fruit.

Leondus Farrow, principal, congratulated the seniors, welcomed parents and guests, and announced that the class of 2010 had earned in excess of $850,000 in scholarship funds thus far.

He also thanked the sponsors who were in attendance including Ellen Crowell with NCSU Park Scholars program, A.B. Rose (Class of 1950), Martha Davis Stith (Booker T. Washington Senior Citizens organization), Elizabeth Moore (Sigma Gamma Rho), Shirley House (Business and Professional Women’s organization) and Reginald Oates and Chief Morgan with the State Employee’s Credit Union Advisory Board.
