The discovery of human remains near Seven Bridges Road in Battleboro is leading area headlines today.

According to a press release, a hunter looking for antlers in woods along Battleboro-Leggett Road stubbled upon the remains around 5 p.m. Monday. Although the remains are unidentified, Sheriff James Knight notified the families of two missing women — Yolanda "Snap" Lancaster, 37, and Joyce Renee Durham, 46.

Lancaster's mother, Juray Tucker, stepfather, Bruce, along with Durham's stepfather, Winston Kemp, spoke with the media Tuesday. They said they've been notified several times in the past when remains have been found, and it is never easy waiting for news.

"All we can do is wait," Kemp said. "We have to put our faith and hope in God's hands."
