N.C. Wesleyan College will sponsor its annual Founders Day at 11 a.m. Thursday in Minges Auditorium at the Dunn Center.
This year’s event will feature a special tribute to the late Guy and Alice Barnes, longtime supporters of Wesleyan who were among the founders of the college in 1956. A Founders Day medal in their honor will be presented to their son, Wesleyan trustee and Rocky Mount businessman Marion Barnes.
The guest speaker at the ceremony will be Lt. Col. Judith K. Boyd, a 1993 Wesleyan graduate and Board of Trustees member. Boyd is a former military intelligence officer and prosecutor who currently works in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Security’s Citizenship and Immigration Service and continues to serve in the Army Reserves.
