N.C. Wesleyan College will include free activities for the entire community during its Homecoming Weekend Fall Festival on Saturday at the Rocky Mount Athletic Complex.
The Fall Festival will kick off at 9 a.m. with a car, truck and bike cruise. At 10:00 a.m., other fun will begin, including bounce houses, a train ride, a vendor fair, and temporary Wesleyan tattoos. At 11 a.m., tailgate competition will begin with cash prizes for multiple categories. General tailgating will also be available.
Wesleyan’s Battling Bishops football team will take on the Panthers of LaGrange College at 1 p.m. at the stadium. Tickets are $6 per person, with children six and under admitted free. Patrons are encouraged to wear blue and gold to support the Bishops.
On campus, various Saturday activities will include alumni softball and baseball games at 10 a.m., women’s varsity volleyball at noon, men’s varsity soccer at 2 p.m. and women’s soccer at 4 p.m.
The community also is invited to purchase advance tickets to Wesleyan’s Homecoming Picnic to be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on the lawn of the Bellemonte House near the college entrance.
The event will feature a picnic dinner, free photo booth, an inflatable obstacle course and live music by the 7th Hour Groove Masters, a local band that includes students from Wesleyan’s Aspire adult degree program.
Admission is $20 per person for ages 21 and above, $10 for ages 7 to 20, and free for ages below six. Advanced ticket purchase is encouraged by Oct. 3.
After Thursday, a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
