A train derailed in Southeastern Virgina early Thursday morning, injuring two engineers from Rocky Mount.
The conditions of the men, who were not identified, are unknown.
Authorities said the CSX train that was headed to Rocky Mount derailed around 2:30 a.m. The two engines of the train along with 10 of the cars that were hauling freight overturned, injuring the engineers and starting a fire. Southampton County deputies in Virginia reportedly pulled the engineers from the debris.
One man was taken to Southampton Memorial Hospital and the second was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
