The 2013 Tar River Challenge has been postponed due to inclement weather conditions, Tar River District officials said.

There is no date yet for when the event will be rescheduled.

The annual gathering of Cub Scouts and their families at Indian Lake Park in Tarboro includes camping, shooting BB guns, archery, fishing, hiking, volleyball and crafts.

Cub Scouting, which is a program of the Boy Scouts of America, teaches boys about 12 core values that include citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness and honesty.
