CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte man is charged with murder after police say he physically assaulted his 6-month-old daughter, leading to the child's death.

Todd Boderick, 25, was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder.

Authorities said the infant was rushed to the hospital Saturday evening after police say they received a call that the girl was not breathing at a hotel on Tuckaseegee Road. She was later pronounced dead by hospital staff.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Wednesday that an investigation showed Boderick had assaulted the girl prior to her death.

Boderick is being held without bond in the Mecklenburg County jail and was expected to make an initial court appearance on Thursday.
