Man wounded in Friday night shooting

A 25-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the back, police said.

Rocky Mount police officers responded just before 8 p.m. Friday to the 700 block of Arlington Street where they said they found the victim with one gunshot wound. Police Lt. Tim Mehus said the shooting reportedly stemed from an altercation, but the investigation is ongoing.

The victim, Terry Hussey, was taken to Nash General Hospital then transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
