Police investigate shooting

Rocky Mount police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting that left one man severely injured.

Police said that around 3:10 a.m. a disorderly crowd was at the parking lot of the Cook Out Restaurant located on North Wesleyan Boulevard. Several gunshots were fired in the parking lot, striking Terrance Andrews, 26, and several vehicles.

Andrews received a chest injury and was driven to Nash General Hospital by family members. He was later transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville where he was listed in critical condition.

Police described the suspect as an unknown black male possibly operating a white Honda. The shooting still is under investigation.
