Rocky Mount police investigated an assault and robbery at the Executive Inn at 1821 N. Wesleyan Blvd. around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Tiera Dancy, 21, reportedly told police an acquaintance, Carlos Wendell Garrett, 31, stole her purse and cell phone. According to police reports, Garrett attempted to drive away, but Dancy stood in front of the vehicle and was hit. She received minor injuries.

Police obtained warrants for assault with a deadly weapon and larceny, with additional charges expected. Garrett remains at-large, and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the police department at 972-1411, Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
