Police charge 3, look for 2 others in break-in

Rocky Mount police are looking for a 16-year-old wanted for second-degree burglary and another suspect known as “JR” in connection with a residential break-in on Monday morning.

According to police reports, officers responded around 5:30 a.m. Monday to a breaking and entering in progress on the 2400 block of Meadowbrook Road. When they arrived, police found Hakeem Michael Battle, 18, and Devante Jamal Johnson, 17. Three other suspects fled on foot. Through the investigation, officers identified two of the remaining suspects as Gregory Devonte Robinson, 16, Antonio Leo Willis, 20.

Battle and Johnson both were charged with accessory after the fact of second-degree burglary and placed in the Edgecombe County jail under $10,000 secured bonds. Willis was charged with second-degree burglary and placed in the Edgecombe County jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

Willis and JR still are at-large. Anyone with knowledge of Willis’ whereabouts or the identity of JR is asked to contact the police department at 972-1411, Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
