Nash County deputies charged a 19-year-old man with homicide Sunday in connection with a Bailey shooting.

According to a press release, deputies arrived at Wilson Medical Center around 3:30 a.m. in response to a report of a gunshot victim. Jayquan Taybron of Middlesex died from his wounds at the hospital, authorities said.

Officers said they determined the shooting occurred on the 4400 block of West Hornes Church Road in Bailey sometime after midnight. No motive in the shooting was announced, but deputies said the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies identified Burnice Antwon Hinnant as the gunman and charged him with first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and carrying a concealed weapon. He is jailed in Nash County with bond.
