A 16-year-old Sharpsburg teen has been charged with murder in the death of his 13-year-old brother.
Acting Sharpsburg Police Chief R.L. Thompson said a Nash County deputy and Sharpsburg police officer responded to a domestic disturbance call just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to a Sharpsburg residence. The brothers had been arguing leading up to the homicide, he said, and the suspect was the one who called 911.
The names of the victim and suspect and the address of the house are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin, he said.
“It’s still an ongoing investigation, and the house is still a crime scene,” he said. “Nash County is helping us process the crime scene.”
The 16-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond in the Nash County jail, Thompson said.
