A 76-year-old woman was killed Tuesday in a traffic collision on Benvenue Road.

Rocky Mount police said Marjorie Wright Spencer turned left out of the EP Mart parking lot at 1800 Benvenue Road, but failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Her vehicle was hit by two other vehicles. Spencer died at the scene.

A 17-year-old was driving north in a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria when his car collided with Spencer’s vehicle. Police said he refused medical treatment, but his three passengers were treated at Nash General Hospital. Authorities said a 35-year-old woman was driving south in a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban when her SUV hit Spencer’s. The driver and her passenger did not need medical treatment, police said.

The crash is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
