A Bailey man was killed Monday morning when the truck he was driving crashed on U.S. 64 in Wake County.

N.C. Highway Patrol officials said the one-vehicle wreck was reported shortly before 8 a.m. near Edgemont Road between Wendell and Zebulon. A Stock Building Supply tractor-trailer hauling wood went off the side of the road, hitting trees and flipping over. The driver, Robert Earl Faison, 61, was pinned in the wreckage and died at the scene.

What caused Faison to drive off the road was not known. The Raleigh-based company declined to comment on the wreck or Faison’s employment.
