Business at the Tarboro Walmart only was interrupted for about an hour Thursday when a bomb threat was called into the store.

Tarboro police Sgt. Al Braxton said Walmart employees took a call around 4:30 p.m. in which a person threatened to blow up a bomb at the store at 110 River Oaks Drive. Store management contacted police who evacuated the store and investigated the threat.

Braxton said no bomb was found and everyone was let back into the store around 5:15 p.m. No one was injured and nothing was damaged during the incident.

“We had a good response without any complications,” Braxton said. “Everything happened in an orderly fashion.”

Anyone with information on the threat is asked to contact the Tarboro Police Department at 641-4247.
