Rocky Mount police apprehended a man Monday who tried to elude them and later was found hiding in an attic.
Police responded around 10 a.m. to a vehicle break-in on the 1100 block of Cypress Street. Police said Traysan Rakeem Tillery ran from officers when they attempted to talk with him. Nearby residents were asked to leave their homes until the 19-year-old suspect could be apprehended. No one was injured during the incident.
According to police reports, Tillery was taken into custody after officers found him hiding in an attic of an acquaintance. Tillery was served with an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on an assault by pointing a weapon charge and charged with resist, obstruct or delay and misdemeanor residential breaking and entering.
