A Scotland Neck man, in what authorities on Monday declared a murder-suicide, shot and killed his 34-year-old wife Saturday before turning the gun on himself.
Halifax County deputies found Jesus Flores, 41, and his wife, Catherine Flores, lifeless Saturday morning at their home off N.C. 125, dead from gunshot wounds to the head, Maj. Bruce Temple said.
An investigation determined Jesus Flores killed his wife and then himself.
Two of the couple’s four children were home at the time of the incident but were unharmed, Temple said.
Deputies confirmed Monday the couple had a history of domestic violence.
Autopsies were scheduled for early this week, Temple said.
