FAYETTEVILLE— More than 500 volunteers have turned out to help authorities search for a Fort Bragg soldier who has been missing for almost two weeks.
The Fayetteville Observer reports that a mix of soldiers and civilians turned up at the parking lot of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center’s Health Pavilion North to look for 23-year-old Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux. She was last seen as she left a bar about 1:20 a.m. April 14.

Police said the last location report from Bordeaux’s cell phone came from a tower behind the pavilion,
The volunteers were split into groups to search a 1.7-mile area shoulder to shoulder.
Bordeaux’s brother said the turnout of volunteers was larger than he suspected. Matt Henson said the family remains optimistic that his sister will be found alive.
