RALEIGH — That old show-business adage saying the show must go on was lost on a lot of people who couldn’t travel to see a performance of “The Book of Mormon” in Durham.

The Broadway musical went on with Wednesday night’s show despite icy conditions created by a winter storm. That storm snarled traffic throughout the Research Triangle area, and led officials to cancel the basketball game between archrivals Duke and North Carolina.

In Raleigh, a performance of “Les Miserables” was canceled because of the weather.

Management of the Durham Performing Arts Center issued a brief statement saying people with concerns could contact them via email and the center would follow up with them.
