SANFORD — A 17-year-old from High Point has been charged with shooting a man to death in Sanford in early December.
Police say the teen was already jailed on unrelated charges on Sunday when detectives served him with warrants including first-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
Sanford police say the teen shot 31-year-old Stacey Morrison to death on December 8. Officers were called to a residential area at around 3:30 that morning, where they found Morrison suffering from a gunshot wound.
Morrison later died at a hospital.
The teen remained jailed without bond on Tuesday. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.
