CAROLINA BEACH — Authorities continue to look for a swimmer who disappeared after lifeguards saw him struggling in the surf off Carolina Beach.
Officials say the lifeguards swam out to the man around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, but couldn’t find him. They left a float in the ocean to help boats and helicopters that joined in the search.
The search was called off at nightfall Saturday and began again Sunday morning. Officials planned extra beach patrols around Carolina Beach to try and find the missing man.
Authorities identified the missing swimmer as Terrance Miller.
