RALEIGH — State Capitol Police say two people wanted in the theft of a baby dinosaur replica from the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences have turned themselves in.
A police statement says 21-year-olds Logan Todd Ritchey of Raleigh and Alyssa Ann Lavacca of Holly Springs are charged with two counts of theft or destruction of property of public libraries and museums, a felony under North Carolina law. Officials say the two turned themselves in on Thursday.
Ritchey is being held on a $2,000 secured bond. Lavacca was released on an unsecured bond. It’s not known if either has an attorney.
Surveillance cameras caught Monday’s replica theft at the Museum of Natural Sciences. Ritchey and Lavacca are also suspects in a similar offense on the same day at the N.C. Museum of History.
